The Port of Cherbourg, situated at the Northern tip of the Cherbourg Peninsula is convenient for travelling to Normandy, and Brittany and provides an excellent gateway for travel to and from the North and East of France, Paris, and onwards to Holland, Belgium and Germany. There are up to 7 daily sailings to and from Cherbourg - Portmouth, Poole, Dublin, and Rosslare, with services operated by the largest ferry operators - Brittany Ferries, Irish Ferries, and P&O Ferries.

By Car:

Cherbourg links to Brittany via the E03 (southwards towards Avranches), and Caen and the Loire Valley via the E46.

By Rail:

There are seven trains a day to Cherbourg from Paris St Lazare

By Coach:

The docks are a short walk from the town centre and a shuttle bus meets the conventional ferry for a 10-minute journey into the town.
